Are you prepared for the EU Deforestation Regulation?
From 30 December 2026, the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) will introduce new requirements for businesses that import or export products within its scope. If this applies to your business, understanding what is required is an important first step in preparing your supply chain.
✓ Complete supply chain visibility
✓ Essential origin information
✓ Proactive logistical preparation
What is the EUDR and does it apply to you?
The regulation is designed to ensure that certain products placed on or exported from the EU market are not linked to deforestation or forest degradation.
It covers specific commodities and products, including:
-
Wood
-
Coffee
-
Cocoa
-
Soy
-
Palm oil
-
Rubber
-
Cattle
For businesses affected by EUDR, having the right information available throughout the supply chain will be essential. This includes specific data about the origin of the relevant products before your shipment arrives.
Asking the right questions early
New regulations are easier to manage when you start preparing early. That’s why it’s worth reviewing your processes today.
We asked our team how we help customers prepare for these upcoming requirements:
What should businesses be asking themselves right now?
“Start with the basics: Does EUDR actually apply to your products? Do you know what information you need to provide, where that data comes from, and what needs to be arranged before your shipment even arrives?”
When do these rules actually take effect?
“The EUDR will apply from 30 December 2026 for large and medium-sized operators. Micro and small enterprises have a bit more time, with a deadline of 30 June 2027. But regardless of your size, early preparation is key.”
